We care about animal welfare and endangered species. We believe in a world where no animal suffers for fashion. We have strict policies to enforce this belief:

• We don’t use markhor animal skin (leather). This species is endangered.
• We have strict requirements for any animal products we use.
• We don’t trade in exotic animal skins (leather), or use materials from vulnerable or endangered species.
• We don’t use leather from some countries, because of the poor treatment of animals. 
• We only accept leather products from animals that have been bred for meat production.

Why The Markhor Name?

The markhor (Capra falconeri), Pakistan’s national animal, symbolizes our artisan craftsmen. The markhor is a large species of wild goat that is found in northern Pakistan. Classified as endangered, its struggle to survive is analogous to the people of the region and the preservation of their artisan heritage. Our Story
